The nice thing about personal narratives is that I don't have to create something out of nothing; the emotions, images, and sounds are there already. The tough part is accessing them and interpreting the sensory and making it a text. The fact that we have time to write, just write. Yesterday, I stayed inside, in an airconditioned classroom in a basement. Today, I went outside to one of the gardens, and apart from concrete dimpled legs, it was fantastic.
I'm so relieved and excited I changed my line of inquiry to something that I've always been drawn to--horror, fear and children's literature.
